For this session of Disarm Kōrero #11 we will be discussing two very important international disarmament conferences: The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference (NPT RevCon) and the First Meeting of States' Parties for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
Both conferences were scheduled to be held early this year, however both have been postponed (again) due to Covid-19 restrictions. Meanwhile, there is still plenty to discuss in the lead up to the events and the various dynamics at play. Do join us for an interesting discussion, all welcome!
We are delighted to be joined by two guest speakers, both NZ experts in the field of disarmament, Tessa Versteeg from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (International Security and Disarmament Division) and Tim Caughley, a former UN and NZ disarmament official.
Please tune in to join the discussion, or you're also welcome to just listen in. All welcome!
