Exhibition: Christchurch to the Hague

The Disarmament and Security Centre is pleased to present Christchurch to The Hague, a commemorative exhibition marking the 30th anniversary of the International Court of Justice's Advisory Opinion on the Legality of the Threat or Use of Nuclear Weapons.

Hosted at Te Whare Maukaroko | House of Peace, the exhibition explores Christchurch's unique contribution to New Zealand's anti-nuclear movement and the international campaign that led to the landmark 1996 World Court Advisory Opinion.

Drawing on rarely seen photographs, archival documents, artefacts, artwork, and personal stories, including materials from the Macmillan Brown Library's Peace and Disarmament Collection, the largest of its kind in Aotearoa New Zealand, and selected artefacts from Canterbury Museum, the exhibition highlights Christchurch's enduring contribution to peace and nuclear disarmament.
