On April 12th, the Disarmament and Security Centre held our #19 Disarm Kōrero session, led by guest speaker Professor Richard Jackson from the University of Otago. Professor Jackson drew from his background as a scholar in terrorism and he shared his reflections on the similarities between the Israeli response to the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 and the US response to 9/11, and how the lessons of the war on terror have been completely ignored. We also discussed what Aotearoa, New Zealand could and should be doing in response to this situation.
