Prof. Nick Wilson is a research professor at the University of Otago’s Department of Public Health in Wellington.During New Zealand’s COVID-19 pandemic, he wrote extensively about minimising the public health effects of the virus. He recently co-authored three papers about food security and island refuges during a nuclear winter scenario.

Dr. Lili Xia is a research assistant professor at Rutgers University-New Brunswick in New Jersey and co-director of the Rutgers Impact Studies of Climate Intervention lab.Recently, a United Nations report by the Scientific Advisory Group for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons cited her 2022 journal article investigating food insecurity and famine following a nuclear war.
